Homosaywhat? takes its name from the asinine children’s joke that still somehow makes us laugh.

We met several years ago while working in publishing, and are all too familiar with that industry’s dark, nepotistic underbelly. After seeing one too many promising projects die due to their supposed lack of commercial potential, we realized that the only way for quirky queer material to see the light of day within a relentlesssly market-driven system was for us to publish it ourselves.

Our first project, We’re Here, We’re Queer, We’re Used To It, was published in 2005 and has been well received in Canada and the U.S. With a grant from the awesome Lesbian and Gay Community Appeal Foundation here in Toronto, we’ve just embarked on a new anthology project—tentatively titled Out of Place--that will allow us to continue helping LGBTT people tell the stories of their lives.

Check out the Homosaywhat? group on Facebook for updates on our current project; better yet, learn more about it here, and then submit something yourself!
